Before Nikola Tesla, there was no long-distance wireless communication. Then, Tesla invented a high-frequency machine that was able to send wireless signals over long distances, which today is known as the radio. The invention of radio also led Nikola Tesla to create the remote control.

Nikola Tesla also anticipated that the world would eventually be full of unwanted radio signals. With this in mind, his machine sent signals in specific frequencies. These messages could only be received by machines that were set to receive those frequencies, therefore ensuring privacy. Without the radio, there would be no television, Wi-Fi, or cellular phones.
